Stirling’s love of horses began at an early age. Under her mom’s guidance, Stirling spent her early years riding project ponies and showing at the local horse shows. As her junior career continued Stirling was given the opportunity to become a working student for Mike and Tracy McCormick and went on to compete in her first Grand Prix at the age of 16, represented Zone 7 twice at Prix de States, and was Zone 7 junior jumper champion 3 years in a row.
In 2021, Stirling moved to California to join Archie Cox at Brookway Stables. Under Archie’s mentorship, she continued to teach, earned multiple championships, year-end awards, and a top-10 finish in the WCHR Developing Pro Challenge in 2023.
In 2023 Stirling joined Jenn Marun in taking over the reins of Westwood SJS. “I am so excited to have the opportunity to continue to grow and develop the program at Westwood. For me, success isn’t just about winning—it’s about challenging both the horse and rider to reach their full potential, while building a true partnership based on trust, balance, and a foundation of solid training. Winning is the result of that hard work and dedication.”
In addition to her experience teaching and riding, Stirling also holds her “R” Hunter and “R” Equitation judge licenses.
Jenn's love of horses began at the young age of four years old when her preschool offered pony rides. Her infatuation stuck, and soon after her mother enrolled in riding lessons at the Rancho Riding Club in Rancho Santa Fe. She began in a county program, and spent many of her junior years as a working student for Marion Hadden Training Stables before eventually becoming a full time employee. During her time as a working student and assistant, Jenn not only learned to ride and show, but also learned the work and dedication required to run a training business. After taking time to continue her education, Jenn returned to horses in 2008 when she had the opportunity to work for Marcy Gehrke at Pacific Ranch Stables. Under Marcy's guidance, she won numerous achievement awards on the county circuit and went on to ribbon competitively in the 'A' show circuit as well. In early 2016 Jenn seized another amazing opportunity to work as Mark Bone's assistant at the new southern location of Huntover before finding her way back to where it all began at the Rancho Riding Club to work with Westwood founder Philp Cillis.
